MURCIA PROVINCE, SPAIN
December 6th 2018 - December 12th 2018
December 7th:
We actually arrived last night and only got to the house at around half past one in the morning.

After waking up and having a nice breakfast and such and doing some grocery shopping, we went to a dried up river to hike. It was quite the search to find the starting point.
Half-way through our hike we rested for a moment and ate a salad we bought earlier in Lidl.

It's a nice area for a hike and to just sit and relax.
In the early evening we returned to the house.
December 8th:
We did a walk along the coast and beach and saw a couple of flamingos. It's nice to see them in their natural habitat!
December 9th:
The plan was to go scuba-diving at the PADI-center at La Manga, but I cannot keep the breathing aparatus in my mouth. It's something that I really really really need to work on, my easily-triggered gag reflex is so irritating.
I just sat at the lighthouse enjoying the breeze and the sea.

We had a pasta by the beach and then had a little siesta in the car, as it felt a waste to just return to the house again.

After the power-nap we went on the Calblanque, which was a tip from Ed the diving instructor.
December 10th:
Today we drove to Torrevieja (in Valencia province). At the salt mine is a lake which can be pink. This sounds really special, but the conditions have to be right for the lake to have a pinkish color. Unfortunately, today was not that day.
But we had a nice walk along the lake anyway.

Afterwards we headed into the city and ate dinner at a restaurant near the harbor, called Giusto.
December 11th:
From the house we're staying at, we can see a mountain. Today was the day we would check that mountain out. We drove to El Cabezo Gordo and then walked up along the path.
The mountain has several caves. They're not really deep or especially interesting.
December 12th:
Back to Belgium!
